You go with me everywhere
And I ache to hold you
To look into your eyes,
Your hand at the back of my neck,
Your lips warm, soft against mine;
To feel your breath on my cheek,
Your body warm, firm against mine.
I long to watch you walk, sit, rise,
And do such ordinary things
That you'll make wonderful to me.
Everywhere, my Adrianna,
Day- or night-dreaming:
You go with me everywhere.
My love goes everywhere with you.
I dream of you asleep
And the smile that upturns your dreaming mouth,
Is for me, looking into your closed eyes
And the touch of my breath on your cheek.
You murmur a little
And your body in sleep
Moves firmly against your vision of mine.
If we are so much to each other even now
And the past has such little power to hold us,
It bodes well for the future?
If our spirits move together already,
Warm and firm:
How onely we shall be when we hold each other
And our days are more than dreams.
