Peter Tamburrino - Somewhere in my Darkness

2014-06-15 12

Somewhere in my darkness
I hear the voice within
Blackness fell across my heart
As my mind would start to sin

Hope was taken from me
Nothing was left to spare
Except the voice within me
Crying out in despair

Can’t clear my mind of tension
Can’t even catch my breath
The voice would whisper words
For me to embrace my death

The voice screams in agony,
“There’s nothing left to life,
So do yourself a favor
And take it with that knife”

“Embrace these empty arms
And pain will cease to be
If you only give up your ghost
And surrender it to me”

I sit still in blackness waiting
Inside this deep dark abyss,
I know the voice within me
Will betray me with that kiss

So I look darkness in the face
And say back with all my might,
“You will never win this battle,
I never give up without a fight”

So I sit in agony waiting
To dig me out of this hole
I would rather live in pain
Than to die and lose my soul
