Aren’t they too literal and too one- dimensional?
Where is their metaphor and their surprise?
Again then
I confess,
“I am a poor simple writer of plain words
No poet in the most imaginative and interesting sense
A man who writes his own truth
And lets the words lie on the page
As if they were his own inaudible breath.”
