You cannot be what I can be
You cannot see what I can see
Black on black, grey on grey
The nothingness won’t go away
Set in my heart from yesteryear
It sits so far and sometimes near
It will still be here tomorrow
Bringing with it, pain and sorrow
An old enemy and a friend
From the beginning to the end
It waits, it’s patient, self assured
Knowing I never will be cured
Confident its day will come again
As before, just as when
Black on black, grey on grey
