L. K. Thayer - When You Were All Mine

2014-06-15 176

when the bell rang
and the roses
were there
I inhaled you

I cried
knowing I'd lose
at my own hand
I watched us slip

I stopped waiting for you
to take my breath
to slay me

my dragon
seeing the agony
of what we had
finish

sharing a sullen love
too much to endure
my fleeting
valentine

when you
were all mine
