Minding my own business one day
Love accosted me in the shopping center parking lot
Invaded my world
Infringed on my thoughts ‘till I couldn’t think anymore
Like a drunkard reeling
I was intoxicated by your wit and words
I lost my sense of sleep and felt my stomach
going up and down like an elevator
I went around grinning like a Cheshire Cat
But being too overjoyed to explain why
everyone thought
I had lost my mind
“Temporary insanity, ” they muttered among themselves
If this is temporary insanity,
I thought
I hope it lasts forever
Strange things that sometimes happen
When you are minding your own business
