As Malaki leading several newly minted regiments proudly
Rushes to Bosra to attack the Shiite militia and is nearly crushed,
With a thousand desertions. Another Kodak moment to be hushed.
As the President noted, this war has had other “defining moments, ”
Each a point of testing, each failed. Yet who in power truly repents
These follies? McCain gives us, “Bomb, Bomb Iran” instead of tears,
And cheerfully suggests this farce could last a hundred years.
