Marilyn Lott - A Roughneck’s Dream

2014-06-14 10

I have driven clear across the country
Seeing hundreds of oil pumps in operation
Right out in the middle of nowhere
Oh, I enjoy seeing them while on vacation

The black oil is sucked from the ground
At a place In Oklahoma called Dill City
You can hear a steady pounding
Creating a product so dark, rich and sticky

I think it’s beautiful at twilight time
When the sky is swirling with colors
The silhouette of an oil rig stands out
And has a beauty like no other

Yes, it is very exciting to me, my friends
To watch those massive machines
Pump that black murky liquid
Right out of a Roughneck’s dream!
