Paper cranes and boats.
A little girl of ten.
You taught me how to create simple joys
On newsprint magically transformed.
Our dreams taking flight on paper white,
Floating down unforeseen turns
In life unfolding
Your breathe expanding
A round ball in my hand.
The years have gone,
And now you lay
Breathe undulating
Quietly waiting
For the majestic crane and the golden boat-
Your own magical transformation.
