A little girl in a pink dress
Sits on a bench
Alone
Waiting for her mother
In a crowded shopping mall
Nobody pays her any mind,
They have their own families to go home to,
Their suppers’ are waiting
But a man in a black jacket
Is watching her,
Every move she makes
Shock
Is on her mother’s face
When she returns
She asks everybody
Her eye can see,
“Where did my little girl go? ”
A little girl, six years old perhaps,
Follows a man in a black jacket
Innocent, unsuspecting
Of the horrors of the world
Nobody saw anything
Because nobody cared
But the next morning
They would notice
And they would care
A little girl in a pink dress
Found
Dead
