Susan Ash - Today

2014-06-14 0

This morning I rose
Full of trepidation for
The day ahead
So many hurdles to cross
Daunting tasks
I would rather have
Left undone.
And as I tackled one
Another new one would
Rise in its place
To be resolved
Maybe tomorrow.

This morning I rose
With a glow,
Stretching my hours
Of delight as far
As they would go,
Delaying other realities
That split my life
Into segments
Each of a different hue.

This night I lay me down
Feeling at one
The day has come full circle
And I am at peace
Tomorrow the circle will start again
But for this night at least
My soul is quiet
