Penny Hemans - The Dog-Breathed Female

2014-06-14 15

The dog-breathed female spits
shards of lightening
rips at my heart
numbs the ripening rose of friendship
and departs
She leaves a legacy
a pitfall of despair
and laughs beneath pasty jowls
Squashy pancake face
I only just noticed! There!
Like
a giant’s hand
has flattened her puppy fat
Splat!
Her pretty face now shaped as a soup dish
Speckled cream from
a myriad of beans’ caresses…..
Wanton maid
not maiden fair
she bares her bosom in the frosty air
while Lucy’s boys
from their plethora of mattresses
lying haphazard on Uncle Tom’s floor
Sit up and ogle her nudity
proclaiming
'She be a right good un!
Can she stay with us again?'
Manky pillows
carry their heads
wasted from carousing with the barrel….

We catch obscenities
and cluck our tongues
to think she had exposed her nakedness
to teenage boys all ripe for plucking
The telephone wires sing with anguish
and I am caught in the mêlée
My parched heart curses the Siren
and losing its dignity
finds it beats
only for me
