Remember
when the kids were small
remember
remember
wrong shoes on tiny feet
and parents struggling
to maintain their calm
lace time to their elbows
tick-tock their tongues
at feisty fledglings
ripping ribbons
shredding stitches
howling without tears -
remember
remember
when the kids were small?
Kookaburras seranaded us
from a Eucalyptus jungle -
remember?
