You nestle your face in my shoulder
And I close my eyes, drinking the smell of you in
Lying here, with your arm across me
I am amazed by how much my heart bursts
I love you more and more each day
Never believed that I would feel this way
This power of devotion and surge of emotion
You ensure the smile stays on my face
How could another, fill me so completely?
How is it possible, that you make my heart dance?
The morning begins, and the night ends
With thoughts of you, my only one
You never cease to surprise me
With your endless acts of 'unconditional'
Your smile, your words, your 'I love you's
Are more precious than the sun
When you wrap yourself around me
And squeeze me until I laugh
When you wipe the tears from my eyes
I melt, I tremble like a new-born calf
Again, I gaze upon your face
Relaxed in the innocent act of sleep
So beautiful, so fragile, so delicate
A gift to this world, and to me
Who is this person that stirs me?
For whom I'd pluck the stars from the sky
The only angel-faced creature
Who doesn't question me, or ask why?
This wonderful, soft-centred person
Whose kisses leave me undone
Is the marvellous, god-given creation
My heavenly, talented son.
For you J, may the world hold unknown treasures for you.
