When you became 'Our Army Guy'
You also made a friend
It did not take long to realize
On you we can depend
I am not into politics
I rarely watch the news
I am not one of the critics
I haven’t got a clue
I know that you are very brave
To teach them what you know
I’m praying that you all stay safe
Protected from our foe
Be careful when you reach the spot
From whence you will defend
The days will be so very hot
Take time to rest and mend
And when your job is finished there
And you get to return
We’ll welcome you with open arms
With honor you have earned
