overkill
when someone is found stabbed fifty times
they call it a crime of passion because of overkill
when I write a poem or prose
it sometimes is overkill and often
what I write is a crime in somebody's mind
passionate..... maybe..... but not always
sometimes I just explore or look without touching
cop a feel so to speak
sneak a peek of the goods without buying
sometimes I just needed a drink and not a drunk
other times I want to get shit faced
but prefer a bed or floor to the gutter
even when they are one in the same
it's true while in war
I prefer the 'scorched earth' technique
to that of 'if we could only talk to our enemies' approach
when I write I tend to lean towards overkill......
because after all is said and done
in the end there may be some poor bastard
who feels he still needs an explanation
that is..... if anyone is left alive......
