Dónall Dempsey - My Very Own Private Summer

2014-06-14 18

the rain fell
like sorrow
liquid sorrow

I was drenched
to the skin
with sorrow

the sorrow
fell harder and harder
its voice monstrous now

passers by fumbled
with gaily coloured umbrellas
trying to fend off the sorrow

the sorrow beat against my skin
but I wouldn't
let it in

inside I was sunny
your smile
my very own private summer
