I NEVER KNEW
Inever knew
That the journey was endless
It dawned upon me
That it was a lack
Within
The more Iignored
The more it grew upon me
Widening, yawning, pawning
Me in the hands of the other
Compulsive or impulsive
Pale thin fingers
On my pulse
How long shall I linger
Or malinger that I am .
