Peter Salgado - A Soldiers Spirit

2014-06-14 4

Down in the mud, holding it tight
The only thing left, that gives me life
Tears role down my hard beaten face
Wish I was not in this forsaken place
Holding your picture, wishing your presence
Close my eyes to smell your incense
Only a crackle in the near sky
Awakens me of my lullaby
Attack Attack is all I hear know
Soldiers running up and down
Confusion, lost is all I feel
But thankful to god to see your not here
My love is safe back at home
Waiting for me to come along
But my love o love
I am not coming home
For I lay holding my wound and the picture of you
Knowing you love me is all I need
To continue my life in prosperity
Sorry if I ever caused you pain
Sadness, hate, what ever you claimed
Im sorry, forgive me is all I ask
To look at the future, and forget the past
O I wish I was there
Holding you close
Feeling so fair
But this the last time in this life of me
Ill be with you for eternity
I made a vow that shall never be broken
To stay with you if I wasn’t mistaken
My spirit shall be with you always
Never will I leave until we are taken
I wait for you to see you in heaven
My heart grieves knowing I won’t see you soon
But my spirit shall always be there to guide you threw
Do not cry over my passing
I fought for my country
But most i fought for your ever lasting
I fought and died for you my love
But when you feel this and sense my way
Tell my baby girl her daddy fought well today
