Taking that next big step
Over the plank
Into the darker waters
Beyond the reaches
Of my family's past
And experience's wake
I sink to the bottom of time
And hold my breath
To swim my way back to freedom
And a new life
I've molted
Become another creature
Hold me fast
Because I'm going to fly away
All new experiences
For this granite-bolded soul.
