The snow came down at midnight
Through Kilamanjaro and by this rustic path
We found ourselves caved in
By an avalanche of despair
And bittered, ripened trust
And made for ourselves a bonfire of deceit
Sparked and scented
By your cruel indifference
And left the remainder
To shiver, chill and thaw
Leaving such remains
That no rescuers might ever find
Nor ever want to
We were cursed from the beginning
Fate has had its turn.
And you invited him in.
