Darkness’s shadows fall over me in ghostly disguise
In exhaustion I close my blinded eyes
Mind’s light flashes photos of life gone by
Even in sleep there is no where to hide
Life’s happiness and harsh realities are securely locked away
Confusing the thoughts of my desires and relentless dismay
In my dreams of fantasy I search for reasoning
Still not finding life’s unconscious meaning to be pleasing
I try to see through the suffocating haze
Of the silent vague memory’s of long lost days
Whether good or bad it is yet to be seen
What does all these past life lessons mean
Pressing deeper into the depths of my own demise
While listening to the silent warning then ignoring pleading cries
My mind is shaken from my dreams of saddened good-byes
Do I really want to partake…
No! I open my eyes
