I wonder what it's like
To write a 1000 poems
Does Tennyson whisper in your ear?
Does Dylan Thomas have a beer with you?
Or perhaps you hear nothing
The sound of emptiness
Is its own reward
You get the benefit
Of expunging those emotions
A thousand times over
And maybe in that moment
You feel the eternal ripeness
Of a peaceful second.
