Emmanuel Stone - Sandcastles

2014-06-14 12

This boy is making sandcastles
that tower over his head.
Great golden piles of joy
an imaginery empire created.
Delicately balanced piles
finely detailed towers
Sweat, hope and his very heart
have gone into this creation.

One wrong move,
a single gust of wind,
sends these castles of sand
tumbling heavily down.
Now this boy is drowning
under cascading piles of sand.
He tries to hold it up,
to save his very soul work
yet the sand keeps slipping through his fingers.

He must pull himself out
Save himself from a bitter end
and move away from these troubled lands
to start his empire anew.
