David Ritter - Three Wishes

2014-06-13 8

I went for a walk
beneath a night's lonely sky
I was missing my love
When a glimpse caught my eye
A falling star fell
from heavens, dark above
So I closed my eyes, made a wish
For my long lost love

I saw a fountain pool
while strolling through a mall
Reached in my pocket
the fount seemed to call
I tossed a shiny penny
closed my eyes, made a wish
To once again, very soon
feel her gentle kiss

Then it was my birthday,
and mother baked a cake,
Before I blew out candles
I had a wish to make
Wherever you are, my love
Wherever that may be
Know how much I love you
Please come back to me
