The Australian Alarm Clock
By Barbara Lynn Terry
As I lay there wide awake,
I wondered what to make
Of the noise outside,
That makes me want to commit homicide,
Of that pesky, noisy magpie.
So as I lay with open eyes,
I just let out a great big sigh,
And slide me feet from under the sheets,
And off to the shower I go,
Yawning and shuffling my feet so slow.
Thank you Heckle and Jeckle for the alarm,
My early morning wake up call,
On this very nice Sunday, my day off.
Now I can have my breakfast,
In the shadow the sun does cast.
YAWWWWWWWWWN.
