Do you ever just drive around
To see the country sights?
Old homesteads crumbling with time
It never seems quite right
Sometimes the cows gather ‘round
With old buildings in their midst
Yes, they have their own kind of charm
At one time they were quite a hit
It’s sad but yet has beauty
A mixture or then and now
But it’s part of the rural landscape
For the horses and herds of cows
Oh if only we were able
To peek right into the past
Those homes had so many memories
If only they could last
But nothing lasts forever
A house or a stately barn
They have a lifetime of memories
But time keeps trudging on!
