Johannes Zettler - Day Blind

2014-06-13 2

In the East it first shows,
down South it goes,
in the West it declines,
in the North it never shines.

Faced North my room’s never bright
and neither is my mind.
Like the polar night it lacks some light –
and I am becoming blind.

Unable to see the sun,
my life has become senseless.
Not knowing how to have fun,
all there is, is distress.

My solar eclipse is holding on,
but my life does not stop.
There will never be a dawn –
whole life is just a flop.

Looking North, waiting for a sign
of happiness out there in space,
that once used to be mine,
but will never return on my face.
