Some say my thinking is awry and some say I'm not right in the head
Since I don't look up to old soldiers and weep at the graves of the dead
Since I don't look up to my so called betters since a crook is a crook that's for sure
The most of crooks they are quite wealthy and not many of the dishonest are poor.
The criminals of the poor suburbs for their crimes are bound to serve time
But I've not heard of many wealthy con men who have been punished for serious crime
'Tis true money speaks every language the wealthy can buy their way out of jail
The power of paper cash is powerful it seldom if ever does fail.
The criminals of the poor suburbs for their crimes are surely made to pay
But the wealthy and corrupted bureaucrats they always have things their own way
Who would wish to be born to poor parents and who would wish to embrace poverty
Yes money does speak every language at least that's how it seems to me.
Some say I'm a cynical person though in that I am not alone
Will you without sin please step forward and be the first to cast the stone
Will you without sin please address us you are the one we wish to hear
Why do we look up to war mongers those who only give to us fear?
Some say I'm a fringe dwelling fascist a scribbler of poor doggerel
And if there is a life hereafter who will I be seeing in hell?
No not many from the poor suburbs but many an ex millionaire
And they will be feeling hard done by and saying doesn't the afterlife seem unfair.
