When I was younger,
Like about ten years ago,
I began dreaming about Emily,
A girl I didn't even know.
Her eyes were the hue of the earth,
And her mane the colour of sunshine.
And I couldn't wait until night to sleep,
All through the day I used to pine.
I would hope to dream of her,
The way she made my heart glow,
The scent of her sweet perfume myrrh,
And her skin as pale as snow.
I had never even experienced this before,
I have to confess she was my first crush,
This girl in my hand, of my fiction,
She'd make my face flush.
I began heading to bed earlier than usual,
Waiting the hours out just to hit the sack,
But we began fighting and we broke up
And she stopped coming back.
