Somebody killed my brother
And they’re staring at me, living next to me
There’s nothing I can do about it
A thief broke into my house
There was a leak from the roof to the floor
He slipped and fell and sued me
Some sick man violated my privacy
Still got away peacefully and me, here I am
Restless day and night, because he’s now my neighbor
My kids get mad at me, I can’t even look
At them in their eyes, for it seems they have more rights
Than I ever will; so would I never dare to touch them?
The family pet attacked my child, my husband kicked it down
We spend so much money trying to rectify his acts
We had to go bankrupt
What a sad story this is, this is the country I live in
What happened, America? What happened to the beautiful?
It seems as if the essential things in life are no longer important
I feel as if America tied my hands. What am I to do?
What am I to say? For none listens,
All they do is condemning, destructing and distracting me
Oh America, where is the America
I used to know.
