Juan Olivarez - Figs

2014-06-13 9

The fig tree is bearing again.
Beautiful brown figs hang on all the branches.
Sweeter than honey, succulent and pure.
juicy figs, a taste of paradise.
So many figs that the mockingbirds and thrushes,
Are enjoying the bounty as well.

Figs on the branches, figs on the ground,
This was a good year lord, figs do abound.

Big and plump, splitting at the seams, with goodness.
Shall I dehydrate some,
Should I freeze some,
Should I can some,
Perhaps some fig jelly,
Perhaps some fig pies?

Figs on the branches, figs on the ground.
This was a good year lord, figs do abound.
