I imagine the rage began with her leaving.
She left for many reasons. Some good...some not.
Sometimes you're awakened at night by the storm within;
wide-eyed, feeling small in the bed's yawning emptiness,
you seek solace in dreams. Tangled wet sheets, set aside
for the wash, betray your secret: a constant yearning for her.
Women try to heal you with the fire between their thighs
but your frigid seed turns them to stone; the bitter chill
of a heart frozen in time hardens inside then out.
There's a judgement upon these dusky, lotus-eaters. You've
a wound which does not heal. A pound of flesh all must pay
for the one who walked away.
