Regardless of the direction in which I walk,
and because of this tumor that continues to grow
on the top back part of my shiny shaved head
people think I'm always staring at them...
They ask it questions that it can’t possibly answer
Because it has no voice; it speaks only of the pain
as it drills into my skull and feeds on my brains.
I try hard everyday to move forward on my journey
to the end of a long and healthy life, recovering
as I relearn my A B C’s; especially the C’s
But the tumor that now wears a thirty-eight D cup bra,
bleeds out my last pint of blood and pounds
my love for life with the constant drumming of my own heartbeat
as it now grows arms with which to wave goodbye
to all those whoever has encountered me
as I follow Polaris with eyes on the back of my head….
