It happened so fast, only in a day,
In an everyday season, in the midst of May.
The day started off bad but had no fuss,
Had to walk 'cause I missed the bus.
But kept cheerful thoughts of butterflies
And two whisked right past by my eyes.
Later that afternoon, I just thought
It was a coincidence of some sort.
But night, walking down the strip,
I heard a sound that made me flip,
I thought it was fireworks, red and white,
Then I turned around to see I was right.
It was from a carnival, but what could it be for?
Then a man told me, 'To raise money for the poor.'
He told me when I didn't even ask,
Why else would he go through that task?
Then I saw a woman, dancing in the street
She didn't see me, our eyes didn't meet,
She was moving in time
With a song in my head,
'Heh, I must be God, '
Was all left to be said.
