Time is no longer on my side,
As you slowly slip away from me.
I know soon I will lose you,
As much as I wish it wouldn't be.
Everyone faces death in their life,
But I'm not ready to see you die.
It can't be your time to go,
As I refuse to say goodbye.
I will not let you go now,
You cannot leave me on my own.
As I know when you do go,
I will be all alone.
People will keep on living their lives.
And the world will carry on spinning.
But I don't think I can go on without you,
Life will not be worth living.
I will still dream about you every night,
You will always be on my mind.
I will meet you in heaven,
And our love again will entwine.
I will never forget your beautiful smile,
Your hugs and kind words.
You will soon be free from this hell,
And fly away like a bird.
I will always love you,
I never thought I'd see you die.
I used to think you would live forever,
Now all I can do is cry.
I know you will be happy wherever you are,
But it doesn't stop the pain.
I can't believe this is really real,
My life is heading towards the drain.
