Amanda Lukas - You Clipped My Wings

2014-06-13 6

I've always tried to make you happy,
Living for you and not myself.
All I wanted was to make you proud.
I was always afraid to ask for your help.
I only cried when you made me cry.
I only smiled when I was allowed.

Your puppet on a string.
A bird not able to fly or to sing.
You cought me with a swing of your net
And then you clipped my wings.

Every thing I did showed you my love.
But you twisted it all into lies.
You were so good at making me feel guilty.
So good at making me cry.

Birds' feathers grow back, you know?
I'm flying now!
I will never go back. No.
So, who's crying now?
