God said to Abraham: “Go forth,
first to the Promised Land,
then east, west, south and north;
your seed shall be like sand
upon the shores and shine
like stars that shine at night.”
He went without a sign;
these words had brought delight
to him, and Sarah too,
and so they traveled west
and southwards, for they knew
that traveling is best.
Their seed has traveled far
north, south and west and east,
and many of them are
still waiting for the feast
they hope will happen when
they’ll wake up one fine day
to hear God tell the men:
“Go forth no more, but stay.”
But those who don’t believe
will ask God for a proof,
and He’ll tell them to leave,
remaining on the move.
