Rukhsar Ahmed - A Message to All Who Look Down on Me...

2014-06-12 30

You see my fully-covering dress,

And assume I'm a mess,

You catch a glance of my eyes, red,

Make stories of me, soon-to-be-dead,

You have been waiting too long,

Yet you're still so, very wrong.

You hear my quivery whispering voice,

Gives you courage to mock and rejoice,

You watch me sit alone and cry,

Spread rumours without asking why,

You have been waiting too long,

Yet you're still so, very wrong.

You wait to see me fall,

And hear my desperate call,

With poisonous words, you await on my choke,

You have been waiting too long,

Yet you're still so, very wrong.

I dislike your feelings towards me,

I pity you for waiting, so long to see,

Waiting to watch me surrender to you,

And deny that my Way is indeed true,

You have been waiting too long,

Yet you're still so, very wrong.

You want me to give in and finally say,

I believe and pledge faith to your way,

You want to create misery in my heart,

Far worse and sober than my rough start,

You have been waiting too long,

Yet you're still so, very wrong.

I pledge my life, sacrifice all to Him,

The Lord, who has guided me away from following the dim,

I swear an oath of faith and surrender unto The One,

Who has given me courage to live on when I feel gone,

To make a mockery out of me, you have been waiting far too long,

Yet you're still so, very, very wrong...
