Lynda Remus - Don't Try To Save Me

2014-06-12 11

You say you want to save me
You’re so sure that you can help
Well it’s not the first time
Someone tried to make me someone else

You look at me and see something broken
Someone who just won’t fit the mold
It just drives you crazy
That I don’t do what I’m told

You think my life's a failure
Because I don’t have a lot
But I know that you aren’t happy
Always want more than you’ve got

I’m happy with my simple life
Don’t need your silver or your gold
It just drives you crazy
That I won’t sell my soul

I like myself just the way I am
Don’t need you to approve,
No, you’d strip away my layers
Til there was nothing left to remove

You say I’ve got to pull myself together
You think my life’s a mess
But I know that there’s more
Than just your definition of happiness

I’m not judging your opinion
Even though you can’t understand
I’m not broken just because I’m not you,
And I’m happy as I am.
