An off-duty cop in White Plains, New York is being hailed a hero after saving the life of a man who crashed into a gas pump.
An off-duty cop in White Plains, New York is being hailed a hero after saving the life of a man who crashed into a gas station. Senior Investigator John Vescio had been pumping gas into his unmarked cruiser at approximately 11 in the morning on June 3rd.
“Video from a security camera at the station caught what happens next. A 69-year-old man who was driving into the station apparently blacked out, slamming into the gas pump and the car stopped there.” [News 12 Westchester]

Fortunately the seasoned cop was able to get away before running towards the Toyota to pull the driver out and away from danger.
Vescio was injured, as a result of the incident but he has since returned to work. As for the 69-year-old male driver of the Toyota, he reportedly went into diabetic shock right before losing control of his car. Thanks to the efforts of Vescio, he is alive and recovering.
