Karen Wedley - And Then We Fell In Love....

2014-06-12 14

I think we both fell
Into a bottomless crevasse
Like a pair of moths to the flame
Unable to help ourselves
And if we were separated
Like siamese twins
Neither of us could breathe
Nor survive
Without the other

We would complete each others sentences
Before we had time to finish
What we had to say
And when we sat or we stood
Like a mirror image
Our body language would synchronise
Just like that!
We were two finely tuned notes
An octave
Waiting to be played

You said I had captured your heart
Like a fish you had risen to my bait
But you are wrong
There were plenty of other fish in the sea
And it was I
Who was impaled upon that hook
It was you that captured me
