C.W. James - While Wandering Lost Among the Clouds

2014-06-12 2

While wandering lost among the clouds,
Not a care for what below,
On my ear a chorus came to and fro,
Piercing the silent tranquil crowds;

Of Innocence and purity which I tread,
Softly, oh so softly.
Never longing to return to from whence I fled,
Costly, oh so costly.

With the melodic rapture I became obsessed,
Searching misty shores high and low,
On my ear a chorus came to and fro,
Never before feeling so blessed.

To my heart the words did quickly bind,
Tender, oh so tender.
As they circled round ones head and mind,
Slender, oh so slender.

For the familiar song my longing rose,
With every note my need did grow,
While on my ear a chorus came to and fro,
And with alarm my body froze.

On ones eyes the way did soar,
Enlightening, oh so enlightening.
And on ones knees, put ear to floor,
Frightening, oh so frightening.

For the warm and comfort of the sirens voice,
Was below, beneath the tide,
'But here without you shall reside,
You no longer have a choice';

The key keeper informed me at the gate,
Haunting, oh so haunting.
For in death as in life I face eternal wait,
Wanting, oh so wanting.
