On cold, a wintry night,
A baby boy on hay,
Swaddled in clothes, He lay-
What heavenly, a sight!
The only Son of God
Was born on earth- how odd!
There was no room for Him;
The stable-light was dim!
Some shepherds came to see;
And Angel choirs sang on;
Three wise men from East came:
‘A Savior King was born! ’
‘Let’s go and adore Him;
He’s come from Paradise,
To make man’s life less grim,
And save him from all vice.’
Oh, what a holy night!
A star above stood bright;
The baby brought earth peace
Joy, love that ne’er can cease!
