Dr John Celes - Sonnet - Flowers And Bees

2014-06-12 0

Each flower has some nectar for the bees,
But served it is on 'who comes first basis',
This love for fellow insects does not cease.
On any day, the flower ne’er refuses.

What bond exists of friendship 'tween the two!
What sacrifice and labour is involved;
Each flower greets each bee, happy to woo;
What love to strangers has Nature evolved.

Yet, every bee must visit each flower;
And suck the nectar at the earliest;
For it is not the flower's only lover;
And every time, it is only its guest.

So, seek you shall in time and in right place,
But blame your laziness for your sad face.
