Roann Mendriq - Poetry for children: Icecream dream

I'll have another ice-cream please,
flavoured with hot garlic cheese;
With just a dash of chilli sauce,
All covered with strawberry gloss.

I'm just kidding, do you think?
That I would dare eat something pink? !
Oh no, I'd rather stick with vanilla ice,
and omit the chilli and the spice.

And then I'll have a chocolate cone,
together with a hot baked scone;
With a sprinking of some rich dry-fruit,
topped with pistachios of high repute.

And then perhaps, an ice-cream cake,
the kind that Mama loves to make;
With fresh coconut underneath,
topped with a lacy lemon wreath.

And what about a mango-stick,
A popsicle for me to lick?
That lets the sunshine in my heart,
bought from the street-side lolly cart?

Dipped in honey, laced with cream,
Oh how I love this ice-cream dream...!
