1.
Do souls age?
Show signs of temperament rot.
The kind of fester that stems from anger
And finalizes in punishment.
Do souls age?
Can they break like a child's bones?
Loose inside latex skin.
Testing the strength of elasticity by coughing.
2.
I sing to the dust,
Claiming out of tune
As an artistic expression
Of pragmatism.
What fool,
Cries over happiness?
The one who whimpers about desolation.
The one who thinks about the thoughts that others are thinking.
The one who eats ice cream on summer days.
The one who writes poetry at 4: 10am on a Monday night.
3.
Belong to the fascination of dormant consciousnesses.
Eye roll
Into a peppermint gaze of hard candy luster.
Blink to advertise freshness.
Give the dust a soda!
Before it infects the pupils.
For
“The eyes are the window to the soul.”
