Last night I dreamed about my home,
I dreamed that I wasn't alone.
I dreamed of the gulf wind blowing fair,
I dreamed all night that I was there.
I dreamed about the open range,
while in a land that seems so strange,
I dreamed of lonely country roads,
And white faced cattle mooing low.
I dreamed of lazy summer days,
In Port Mansfield by the bay.
Catching croker, reds and trout,
It was a dream, without a doubt.
When morning lightened up the sky,
I came awake, opened my eyes.
And had to stifle a big sigh,
because cowboys ain't supposed to cry.
