Lawrence S. Pertillar - A Remedy Too Many Dare to Face

2014-06-12 3

To tunnel in and out of the darkside,
Has to be done.
If an appreciation for light,
Helps to overcome....
A foolish accepted activity,
Easily embraced...
By those too long comforted by clouds.
When there is an option to bask in Sun.

To avoid pain some keep it sustained.
And not to admit it is felt...
Does not mean it is not seen,
Nor kept undetected from someone else.

It resides and hides behind illnesses.
Inhabiting our minds to dine on mental ailments.
And they are shared without thought.
As if to gift others...
Seeking agonies sought.

'You're not the only one,
Who has enjoyed those aches and pains.
I've had them for years.
And my doctor says I should...
Double the dose.
Promising slowly I will begin not to notice.
As long as I maintain the routine.'

To tunnel in and out of the darkside,
Has to be done.
If an appreciation for light,
Helps to overcome...
Until the root of this self infliction,
Ends a need for habitual prescriptions...
We are addicted to monitor.
Fearing the cure of self examination.
A remedy too many dare to face.
Choosing to pop and dropp daily as scheduled,
On 'anti-reality' in its place!

With no less than 8 ounces of a preferred beverage.

'I'll take another round of rum and coke.
Forget the rocks! '
