My Partner doesn’t like mushrooms
I really don’t see why not
Sizzling next to a steak
Or in a soup
Laced with cream and thyme and wild bergamot
I don’t see what puts him off
Perhaps I should take him
To the bottom of the garden
On a warm midsummer night
Where the enchanted fairy folk
Will dance around them
Bathed in magic moonlight
Or I could take his hand
And we’ll jump through a big green pipe
To a land far out of reach
Straight to the Mushroom Kingdom
Where he’ll be greeted
By a plumber, a dragon
And a princess called Peach
Or maybe a trip to Wonderland
Will help me change his mind
Through a great hole we’ll fall
And chase a rabbit that’s late
Just to find out his fate
Where the mushrooms will make us grow tall
Or small
But for now he don’t like mushrooms
Maybe I shouldn’t tempt fate
But one day I’ll be cruel
Or maybe a fool
And sneak one onto his plate
